These pancakes are it. As in I haven’t tasted better pancakes then this. It’s my all time favorite and it might as well be number 1. The syrup that comes with it is delicious. If you’re in the area, this place is a must to go to. I’ve been here a few times and I like thats it’s consistent. I had the chocolate chip pancakes and it’s just something in the way they make it that can be very addicting. I do have to warn you to not hurt yourself enjoying this. They have other variations of pancakes such as blueberry or plain. If you don’t like these pancakes, I don’t know what to say honestly. When you first walk in you’ll be immediately met by the host with a small waiting area. You will have to wait to be seated unless you go on Yelp and get on the waiting list prior to your arrival. This place does get very packed especially on the weekend but it’s a nice breakfast and brunch spot. They do have two dining areas which is nice to accommodate the crowds of people. I must say the pancakes are slightly priced a little bit over normal but it’s well worth it.
Vanillamore – Montclair, NJ
Before I begin, I want to preface my statements by saying, this is only a review for the dessert menu. I didn’t try other items on the menu so I may come back to this post at a later date with an update. *coughs. Not sure if I’m all for this place to go back we’ll see. So the dessert menu is almost like tapas so they aren’t full actual desserts, as you can see from the picture. The items that Leah and I ordered were the chocolate obsession, vanillamore, earl grey strong tea, and hazelnut hot chocolate. When you first get into the place, you are immediately met by the host so there’s no waiting area. There was a 15 minute wait for a Sunday which was good because usually it’s even longer. Based on the two plates that we had of dessert, my favorite was the ice cream with the waffle cone and a cake with vanilla or cream cheese icing (on the vanillamore) and the chocolate chip cookie sandwich that came with the chocolate obsession. The presentation and atmosphere was really nice as you have bar seats with a few tables and chairs for guests. I will say this place is very instagram worthy, even though I don’t have an instagram. However, after that, you’re not really missing much honestly with the price that you are paying. Do bring your wallet on this because this will be an expensive meal. Kuddos to our server who was very nice and provided some insight on the menu.
Big Pink – Miami, FL
Miami, Miami, do I miss the nice weather especially in this cold right now. Anyway, Big Pink a place I visited in Miami that I heard really good reviews about. So first, the menu is gigantic as in it has many food options and the menu itself is tall. So I ordered the chocolate chips pancakes and I can say they were good but it was big as you can see from the picture. When the server handed me the pancakes, people outside were looking like, “there’s no way he’s eating that” or “wow that thing is humongous”. It was a little of both from their laugh as they pointed to me like wow. I didn’t expect it to be that big but it was. The pancakes were good and reasonable. I believe Leah, my wife, had an omelet which was huge as well. I’ll have to come back and try other things on the menu but if you’re in the area, do try it the place as it’s a fun experience. The prices were also reasonable for the big portions that you get so you can’t go wrong with it. By the way, I didn’t even finish half of the those pancakes.
Sweet Chick – Brooklyn, NY
This has to be one of my favorite places to eat as I’ve been here a few times already. Sweet Chick is known for their Chicken and Waffles and so I thought I would start here with blogging. The waffles, as pictured, were the Apple and Cinnamon flavor that they have. There are other flavors which sound good but by all means don’t try the plain version. Why? That’s boring, so don’t do that. The fried chicken comes with 2 pieces and I must say it’s quite good. The chicken is seasoned well but not salty and it has a good crunch to it but also tender on the inside. The waffle comes in four pieces which are filling so I do think this is a meal that can be shared. However, I do warn you, you’re going to want more. The waffles comes with three spreads, which I can’t remember, and maple syrup that isn’t regular syrup which I like due to no high fructose corn syrup. The waffles are prepared well due to how soft with a slight crunch that it has. You are forewarned to come early as this place gets quite busy especially on the weekend. Do bring your wallet because the chicken and waffles alone are $19. One more thing to add, try the biscuit with the jam. The biscuit is just right and with the interesting jam, it makes it even better.

Hi everyone. I wanted to create a blog of different food places that I visit throughout the U.S and abroad. I enjoy food and I wanted to share my experiences with everyone else. Some food items that you will see are Soul Food, Italian, Traditional American, Asian, and some others. Forgot to mention that there will also be posts about, you guessed it, dessert. I will give my honest opinion on restaurants I visit and hopefully you’ll try them or not. Hope you enjoy and feel free to leave comments if you have any. Questions are also good as well.
